Marta San Román is Deputy Director of AFEC (Association of Air Conditioning Equipment Manufacturers). She affirms that “C&R 21 continues to be the benchmark exhibition for the sector,” adding that “the effort by the exhibitors, who had the vision and the courage to overcome uncertainty and to make their bet on the success of the Fair, has been worthwhile.”

AFEC participated at the Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Fair 2021 with two stands, explains Marta San Roman, AFEC’s Deputy Director: one focusing on heat pumps, as part of its Promotion Strategy for that technology, and another for the Association itself. “Considering that this edition started out with the challenge of boosting market activity and generating optimism and confidence among participating companies and professionals, it has been a success (two for us): objectives achieved.”

San Román emphasises that “C&R21 continues to be the sector’s benchmark exhibition, and the effort by the exhibitors, who had the vision and the courage to overcome uncertainty and to make their bet on the success of the Fair, has been worthwhile.”

Major Challenges

AFEC’s Deputy Director says that the Fair confirmed how important certain subjects are, both in the formal and informal business meetings and technical workshop talks. “For example, decarbonisation policies, with ambitious goals including solutions like heat pumps, regulation & control, also European funding which provides assistance, some already available, for clean technologies & energy for energy refitting, and the necessary digitalisation, and growing concern about indoor air quality (IAQ).”

These issues represent “a strong boost for the industry, with equipment and systems that are increasingly more effective and efficient, and with technological developments with more and more features. And they indicate a clear trend towards recovery in the air conditioning sector.”
