At CONSTRUTEC 2024, Grupo Pastrana will present their pre-stressed ceramic slab as an evolution of traditional slabs. What does this new feature product mean for the construction market?

The pre-stressed ceramic slab system is an economical, safe and easy-to-install construction alternative. The traditional slab construction system carries greater costs and risks, and is complicated to fit. The manufacture of pre-stressed ceramic slabs in the plant provides a higher level of quality than can be achieved on site. Using our pre-stressed ceramic slab results in a significant reduction in installation and labour, which is translated into savings for our clients, without affecting the quality of the finish.

What are the other characteristics of the pre-stressed slabs?

They are key structural elements in the construction of slabs. They have a high resistance to flexural compression and are able to withstand high loads. The prestressed slabs consist of a top layer of concrete facing and an interior with prestressed HP-40/P/12/IIIb concrete ribs, 4 lifting bolt units per slab, prestressing wire Y1860C Ø 5 mm, and ceramic weight alleviations. They are designed for the construction of one-way and self-supporting ribbed slabs in building constructions, civil engineering and any category of use.

What are the properties of pre-stressed slabs that demonstrate their potential as construction solutions?

As the slab has a large surface area, it allows the operator to move safely. It has a high load-bearing capacity and large span coverage due to the use of concrete and high-strength prestressed wire. Quality is also guaranteed through internal and external manufacturing controls for the certification of the product. Prestressed slabs with special cuts can be supplied from the manufacturing plant; we offer each customer the option to have it cut as they require, for greater convenience and speed of execution on site.

Among its features is also the easy and safe anchoring system for the handling of our plates. A very significant saving in the setting and hardening of the slab, which allows work to continue without long delays.
