One of the key objectives of Semana Internacional de la Construcción is to examine the current and future challenges facing the construction sector. To this end, the event will feature a comprehensive programme of activities designed to address the specific challenges faced by each of the sectors represented.
The Semana Internacional de la Construcción will bring together CONSTRUTEC, SMART DOORS, PISCIMAD and VETECO from 5 to 8 November. This will be an event for innovation, sustainability, digitalisation, energy efficiency and the impact of new technologies in design and construction.

The activities programme comprises the following elements:
1st Building the Future Congress:
This forum, organised in collaboration with Alimarket, will take place on the 5, 6 and 7 November in Hall 3. This space is aimed at developers, construction companies and distributors in the sector. It aims to become a key meeting point for the sector, where the main challenges transforming the construction sector can be debated. The programme will be structured by days. Each section will address a specific theme. The focuses will be on innovation, sustainability and industrialisation. The conference will bring together leading companies and industry experts to address the critical issues shaping the future of the construction sector. Attendees will gain insights into the challenges transforming the industry and explore strategies for its continued growth and development.
Architecture Forum, Professional Association of Architects of Madrid (COAM):
This organisation will be holding a series of three conferences on the 7 November in Hall 3. The first of these is 'New Ways of Building', The next conference is a discussion on housing, rehabilitation and urban regeneration. The third conference, entitled 'Other architectures: New approaches to practising architecture', will address three major challenges for architecture and our cities. The conference will explore new approaches to practicing architecture, including innovative methods of building and doing architecture.
Construction Labour Foundation:
The foundation will host a series of talks with a training focus. The events are scheduled for the morning of 5 November in Hall 3. A variety of round tables and spaces for debate will be available. The programme will commence with the construction sector initiatives for the qualification of professionals, proceed with the qualification of the construction sector in Spain, then address the implementation of Law 3/2022 on the organisation and integration of Vocational Training. Finally, it will address the training needs in the construction sector.
1st Investment Forum:
Furthermore, the meeting is scheduled for the morning of 6 November as part of the Construtec event. The focus is on the owners and executives of ancillary construction companies. The programme will address the key factors that drive innovation, efficiency and sustainability in an industry that plays a pivotal role in economic and social development. It will also facilitate an understanding of the strategic options available to companies in this sector and provide insights into potential business opportunities with other industry leaders.
Conference on the Energy Performance of Buildings:
On 5 November, a conference will be held at Construtec with the objective of analysing the implications of the recently introduced Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) of the European Parliament and the Council. The objective of this session is to examine the principal consequences of the recent regulatory changes, which include an increase in retrofitting, the introduction of the digital building passport and the incorporation of sustainability indicators in energy certification.
CGATE Technical Conferences and the Association of Quantity Surveyors of Madrid:
In this instance, the presentations are scheduled to take place over a two-day period, on the 6th and the 8th. The presentations will include a discussion of the Energy Calculator, which will demonstrate how this tool can be used to optimise energy consumption in buildings. The presentation of the Energy Poverty Guide, which addresses the challenges of energy efficiency, and the presentation of the Rehabilita Saludable Guide, which promotes the rehabilitation of spaces in a sustainable way, were both well received. On the second day of the event, there will be a roundtable discussion on the topic of digitisation, with a particular focus on the RCDs Guide and the KLR Guide (Kit Lean Rehabilitation).
Mexico Conference:
Mexico, the guest country at the Semana Internacional de la Construcción, will host a dedicated day to promote trade between the two countries and highlight business opportunities for the development of the sector.
The programme will include roundtable discussions. The Semana Internacional de la Construcción Mexico project will be presented, along with an overview of its significance for IFEMA MADRID and the organisation's internationalisation strategy. There is an international dialogue, entitled “Housing with a social focus, Innovation and Opportunities in the Construction Sector” and a business round table, entitled “Mega-builds in Mexico: Opportunities in Infrastructure and Real Estate Development”.
BIM Forum:
The BIMEXPO forum at Construtec, part of the four-day Semana Internacional de la Construcción, will bring together industry experts to discuss and debate the strategies, challenges and benefits of implementing Building Information Modelling (BIM) in construction and infrastructure projects. The forum is structured across four days which specific themes related to the implementation of BIM: Challenges and Strategies; Collaboration to Apply BIM; Investment Return on Applying BIM, and Successful Use Cases of BIM in Projects.
Ibero-American Forum:
The event, scheduled for 5 November in Hall 5 of VETECO, will analyse the market situation, challenges and opportunities, as well as collaboration between Latin American countries in the construction sector, particularly regarding solutions for façades and windows. The objective is to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience, as well as the establishment of business partnerships.
Glass Forum VETECO:
This forum, which will bring together experts, professionals and companies from the construction and architecture industry to discuss the latest innovations and trends in glass applications, will feature two roundtable discussions during the afternoon of 6 November in Hall 5. One of the themes will be entitled 'Glass – The Product'. The meeting will address key issues, including those related to carbon footprint, recycling, quality and defects, NiS inclusion, and the impact of the new European Construction Products Regulation (CPR). In addition, it will consider the relationship with the near future transformer. The second round table, entitled 'Processed Glass - The Solution', will address the following key issues: the manufacturer's dependence on non-quality competition; the requirements of the regulations; quality seals; the impact of the new European Construction Products Regulation (CPR); and the management of defects and non-defects. Options for improvement or the near future.
VETECO-ASEFAVE Awards
The fifteenth VETECO-ASEFAVE Awards will be held at VETECO, as part of Semana Internacional de la Construcción. They will present a vision that reflects reality and highlights the company's diverse product categories, including windows, light façades, and solar protection. These products are designed with quality, design, and energy efficiency, sustainability, and environmental respect in mind. They will take place on 7 November at 16:30.
Furthermore, VETECO will be hosting the ASEFAVE conference, entitled 'Transforming construction: Opportunities and challenges of the circular economy'.
Women Executives in the construction and renovation sector
iRehabitae will present this roundtable debate, which will analyse the current situation of the construction and renovation market, as well as new regulations and the role of women. The opinions of these women will be sought on the challenges and opportunities facing the sector. The event is scheduled to take place on 6 November in Hall 3.
Smart Doors – FIMPA Forum:
On 6 November, a series of presentations will be held at this trade fair dedicated to doors and automation systems. The objective is to address the challenges currently facing this sector.
Construtec and Piscimad Forum: This space, situated in Hall 3, will provide an opportunity for interested companies to present their products and topics of interest to potential customers.
VETECO-Smart Doors Forum:
The common ground between these two trade fairs is reflected in the topics they address, which include innovations in intelligent access, enclosures and automation solutions in modern buildings. In addition to the integration of key considerations such as energy efficiency, advanced security and connectivity.
1st Home Staging and Real Estate Marketing Forum:
The inaugural national event in Spain on home staging and real estate marketing will take place at Construtec, as part of the Semana Internacional de la Construcción programme, on 8 November. The objective of this forum is to serve as a hub for the advancement and promotion of home staging and other marketing techniques within the real estate sector.
The Semana Internacional de la Construcción enjoys the backing of the sector's principal trade bodies, including CEPCO, ASEFAVE, FIMPA and ASEPPI.
