International Construction Week, which includes the trade fairs CONSTRUTEC, SMART DOORS, PISCIMAD and VETECO, welcomes Mexico as guest country to open up multiple business options and broaden business horizons towards Latin America.

The event, which places international growth as one of the central themes, seeks to enhance the visibility of companies from Mexico in light of its growing influence in the global construction panorama.

All sectors linked to construction will be present at IFEMA MADRID from 5 to 8 November for International Construction Week. This year's edition, which encompasses the trade fairs CONSTRUTEC, VETECO, SMART DOORS and PISCIMAD, and is to be held to coincide with METELEC, also welcomes Mexico as the first guest country.

Welcoming Mexico as guest country is central to improving the international positioning of this trade fair, and fostering development between companies and associations linked to the construction sector in the broadest sense, including windows, façades, solar protection and cladding, doors and automatic doors and water features.

It is hoped that this grand multi-sectoral event can serve as a key tool for the more than 550 companies that have already confirmed their attendance, while also coinciding with Matelec, the International Trade Fair for the Electrical and Electronics Industry, where another 500 companies will be present, combining to generate a space with more than 1,000 companies in attendance.

The presence of Mexico as guest country at International Construction Week highlights the country's commitment to these sectors, as well as to innovation, sustainability and infrastructure development linked to construction. The aim is also to promote this trade mission, with almost 50 companies and institutions based in Mexico and Spain visiting, presenting products and services with the aim of generating new synergies.

Mexico has shown strong economic growth in terms of trade relations with Spain. According to data from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Enterprise, in just the first few months of this year exports to Mexico reached over 3.1 billion euros, 6.8% of total Spanish exports, while Mexico’s imports from Spain were also worth over 3 billion euros, equivalent to 4.6% of the total. Mexico is Spain's primary trading partner in Latin America.

In the words of Mexico's ambassador to Spain, Quirino Ordaz Coppel, “We celebrate Mexico's participation as guest country at these four events for the potential they have and for the inaugural International Construction Week. It's illustrative of the number of professionals, associations and representatives of the different states of the Mexican Republic that will come together for this week at IFEMA MADRID. It is without doubt an excellent opportunity to strengthen international ties.”

For his part, Luis Rodulfo, Chair of the Organising Committee of Construtec, International Construction Week, underlined how for the trade fairs involved, it's a great collaboration that adds value; “having Mexico on board as guest country shows the country's growth for these sectors and for us. And Mexico's participation will highlight not just the progress made in this area but also its capacity as a country through the opportunities for collaboration that will be generated.”

The director of International Construction Week, Alberto Leal, added it was “a great opportunity to strengthen ties between both countries, and to explore the immense possibilities of collaboration between all the sectors involved in construction, adding great value to participation for everyone taking part in these trade fairs.”

Mexico's participation as guest country is an example of the importance of international growth across these four trade fairs, with more than twenty countries represented among the participating companies. They include Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, China, Cyprus, Czechia, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Czechia, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey and the United Kingdom.
