Mexico will be holding a conference focusing on its potential as part of the Semana Internacional de la Construcción Activities Programme.
Mexico's status as Guest Country at the Semana Internacional de la Construcción provides an ideal opportunity to showcase the project, which is set to take place there.
Construtec, Veteco, Smart Doors and Piscimad, the trade fairs that include the Semana Internacional de la Construcción, will leverage this call to enhance the international scope of an event that will be attended by over 1,000 companies. In total, 550 companies will be exhibiting at these four trade fairs, as well as the 500 that form part of Matelec, the International Trade Fair for the Electrical and Electronics Industry.
Mexico will be promoting a trade mission, which will see around 50 companies and institutions from Mexico and Spain in attendance. The mission will be focused on the presentation of products and services, with the aim of generating new synergies by highlighting the development of infrastructure linked to construction.
Furthermore, it will form part of the Activities Programme, which will include a whole conference dedicated to Mexico. This will commence with welcoming addresses from Quirino Ordaz Coppel, Ambassador of Mexico in Spain, and Oscar Pérez Barros, Head of Economic Affairs and Tourism Promotion of the Embassy of Mexico in Spain, as well as Alberto Leal, director of the Semana Internacional de la Construcción.
The Semana Internacional de la Construcción Mexico will then be presented, with the following guests in attendance: Jaime Martín, Director of International Expansion of IFEMA Madrid; Luis Salazar, President of Expo Guadalajara; Juan Manuel Chávez, President of CMIC Jalisco; and Oscar Pérez, Head of Economic Affairs at the Embassy.
Furthermore, roundtable discussions will be held in addition to the two items. The first item on the agenda is an institutional round table entitled “Housing with a social focus, Innovation and Opportunities in the Construction Sector”. This will address public policies and the role of government in the development of social housing, innovation in social housing: a global perspective, opportunities for collaboration and technology transfer, and challenges and solutions for the development of social housing.
Another business round table will be held discussing “Mega-builds in Mexico: Opportunities in Infrastructure and Real Estate Development.” The analysis will focus on mega-projects in Mexico from a Spanish perspective, outlining opportunities for collaboration and addressing challenges and solutions for their development.
