Semana Internacional de la Construcción and Matelec events will commence tomorrow, with over 1,000 companies in attendancee 1.000 empresas

The event, which includes the CONSTUTEC, VETECO, SMART DOORS and PISCIMAD trade fairs, as well as coinciding with MATELEC, commences tomorrow at IFEMA MADRID. It is positioned as a key event for these sectors.

This year’s event will feature a comprehensive activities programme, an extensive exhibition showcasing over a thousand companies, and Mexico’s participation as Guest Country.

The event will take place from 5 to 8 November at the Recinto Ferial in IFEMA MADRID.

 IFEMA MADRID will be hosting the Semana Internacional de la Construcción and MATELEC from 5 to 8 November. A significant event that will establish Madrid as the focal point for innovation in the construction sector and the electrical industry. This event, which includes the CONSTRUTEC, VETECO, SMART DOORS and PISCIMAD trade fairs, is held concurrently with MATELEC, the International Trade Fair for the Electrical and Electronics Industry. This unique exhibition offers a combined presence of over 1,000 companies.

This event, which will occupy all the halls of the Recinto Ferial, is an essential event for companies and professionals from a range of industries, including construction, windows, façades and solar protection, architecture, doors and automation, swimming pools, electrical and electronics. This week is the event’s inauguration, which is being held in conjunction with Matelec. It is already attracting significant international interest, with over 550 companies from abroad registered to attend.

A total of 28 countries will be represented at these five events. The list of countries includes Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Bolivia, Bulgaria, China, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Monaco, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan, Türkiye and the United Kingdom. This demonstrates the significance of globalisation in disseminating ideas, resources and business opportunities in the construction sector, and in fostering collaboration between companies and professionals from diverse countries. In addition to Mexico's role as a guest country, the objective is to expand business opportunities and explore new avenues in Latin America.

This is an ideal venue for fostering innovation and development within the sector.

The Semana Internacional de la Construcción, held in conjunction with MATELEC, will provide a unique forum for innovation, knowledge exchange and the creation of new business opportunities over four days. It will play a pivotal role in the revitalisation of a strategic sector.

  • CONSTRUTEC: This leading trade fair for construction materials and sustainable and efficient building solutions will bring together construction companies, structural solutions and technologies, such as the BIM Space, with the aim improve energy efficiency. This will position CONSTRUTEC as an essential platform for the development of responsible and sustainable solutions in construction.
  • VETECO: This event, which focuses on windows, façades and solar protection solutions, will showcase innovations designed to enhance the energy performance of buildings. It will feature contributions from leading companies, who will be exhibiting their latest products and technologies in glass, enclosures, insulation systems and other areas that contribute to more efficient and environmentally friendly construction.
  • SMART DOORS: This event, which focuses on doors and access automation, will showcase a comprehensive range of automation solutions and access control systems. It will also highlight the latest technological advances in security and efficiency for intelligent buildings.
  • PISCIMAD: This trade fair is dedicated to the swimming pool and wellness sector. It will present products, services and technologies aimed at the design, construction, maintenance and renovation of aquatic spaces.
  • MATELEC: The International Trade Fair for the Electrical and Electronics Industry brings together leading companies in sectors such as automation, energy efficiency, connectivity and IoT (Internet of Things), showcasing the latest electrical and electronic solutions that are transforming the built and industrial environments. The event will focus on sustainability and technological innovation, offering professionals in the sector the opportunity to learn about the latest trends in electrical installations, intelligent lighting systems, renewable energies and digital solutions for intelligent construction.

Mexico: the first Guest Country for Semana Internacional de la Construcción

One of the most notable aspects of this significant event is the inclusion of Mexico as the Guest Country. By doing so, these fairs enhance their international visibility and facilitate business growth between companies and associations across the entire construction, windows, façades, solar protection and envelope, doors, and automatisms, and aquatic installations sector between the two countries.

This agreement includes an important trade mission, in which approximately 50 companies and institutions from Mexico and Spain will be present, showcasing their products and services with the objective of fostering new business opportunities.

High Quality Activities Programme

To facilitate constructive dialogue, address challenges and provide training opportunities within the sector, the Semana Internacional de la Construcción will feature a comprehensive programme of activities, including conferences, round tables and high-level forums.

The programme will comprise the following elements: the 1st Building the Future Congress; the Architecture Forum, the Professional Association of Architects of Madrid (COAM); the Construction Labour Foundation conferences; the 1st Investment Forum; a Conference on the Energy Performance of Buildings; the CGATE Technical Conferences and the Association of Quantity Surveyors of Madrid; and a conference dedicated to Mexico, in its capacity as Guest Country. Furthermore, the BIM Forum, the Ibero-American Forum with ASEFAVE, the Glass Forum VETECO, the VETECO-ASEFAVE Awards, the Women Executives in the construction and renovation sector (iRehabitae), the Smart Doors – FIMPA Forum, the Construtec and Piscimad Forum, the VETECO-Smart Doors Forum and the 1st Home Staging and Real Estate Marketing Forum will also take place.

In addition to the main MATELEC event, the MATELEC Forum will also take place. This will include the Installer's World – The Young Installers Competition, the KNX Forum, and the 6th Innovation and Energy Efficiency Awards.

The Semana Internacional de la Construcción, in conjunction with MATELEC, will be distributed throughout the halls at the Recinto Ferial at IFEMA MADRID as follows: CONSTRUTEC and PISCIMAD will be in hall 3; SMART DOORS will be in hall 5, while VETECO will be in halls 7, 9 and 10; and Matelec will be in halls 4, 6 and 8.
