The BIM (Building Information Modelling) zone, which will be present at CONSTRUTEC, International Construction Week, will feature the BIM Forum where the issues and trends affecting this methodology will be analysed.

From 5 to 8 November 2024, under the umbrella of Construtec, part of International Construction Week, the BIM Forum will be held within the framework of the BIMEXPO. One of the key events in the field of digitalisation and construction in Spain, this forum will bring together industry experts to discuss and debate the strategies, challenges and benefits of implementing Building Information Modeling (BIM) in construction projects and infrastructure.

This forum, held as part of Construtec, will benefit from the participation of top professionals and companies in the sector, who will tackle key issues such as the adoption of BIM, collaboration between agents during the lifecycle of projects, and the return on investment associated with the use of this methodology.

The forum is structured across four days with specific themes: Implementation of BIM: Challenges and Strategies; Collaboration to Apply BIM; Investment Return on Applying BIM, and Successful Use Cases of BIM Application in Projects.

BIM Forum Agenda:

5 November: BIM Implementation: Challenges and Strategies

The day will get off to a start with a speech on “Level of adoption of BIM in Spain” given by David Barco, from Berrilan and buildingSMART Spain. This will be complemented with the round table ‘I want to apply BIM, but I don't know where to start’ moderated by Miguel Morea, from BIM LEARNING and with the participation of Ignacio Martínez, from VILOR, Diego Muñoz, from ASCH Infraestructuras and Borja Martín, from CAD&BIM Services.

Finally, the first day will be brought to a close with the round table ‘I want to require BIM, but I don't know how to do it’ with Sergio Muñoz from buildingSMART Spain, as moderator and with the participation of Jaime Moreno, from the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Olalla Gómez, from the Empresa Municipal de Vivienda y Suelo de Madrid, Fernando Iglesias, from KRONOS and Alberto Castillo, from APLCAD.

6 November: Collaboration to apply BIM

The second day will be focused on the collaboration required by the BIM methodology. The day will begin with the speech “Collaboration based on standardisation” presented by David Delgado Vendrell, from buildingSMART Spain.

There will then be the round table “Collaboration of agents during a phase”, moderated by María Benítez from ISDEFE, in which Susana Millán (WSP), Miguel Castellote (OHLA) and Consuelo Vázquez (BIMPRO) will participate. There will also be another round table with the title “Collaboration throughout the lifecycle” moderated by Marco Pizarro (INTEGESA), with the participation of Álvaro Sánchez Palma (HIBERUS), Begoña Martín (COMSA), Gonzalo García (EADIC) and Salvador Bohigas (MSI).

7 November: Investment return on the application of BIM

The third day will focus on investment return associated with the implementation of BIM. It will begin with the speech “The value of BIM: investment or cost”; with a speaker yet to be confirmed. Then, the use of BIM in micro-companies will be addressed in a round table moderated by Evelio Sánchez (BIMRRAS) and with the participation of Patricia Isla (SGS), Martín Lois, Gorka Leal (IP21) and Rafael Teresa (ISCAR SOFTWARE).
