The event saw an increase of 2% in the number of professional participants and, together with MATELEC, attracted more than 70,000 visitors and more than 1,100 companies.
International Construction Week, organised by IFEMA MADRID, closed its doors on 8 November, with a very positive balance that showed the recovery of the sector and laid the foundations for boosting its high growth potential. The event, which brought together 46,737 professional participants and 560 companies, with the CONSTRUTEC, VETECO, SMART DOORS and PISCIMADshows, has established itself as a core event for the entire construction industry, demonstrating its usefulness as a key instrument at the service of the entire construction ecosystem.
Thus, Semana Internacional de la Construcción has served to reflect the diversity of the sector, as can be seen in the different professional sectors that have attended, including: construction developers and renovation companies, 28%; architectural firms, 7%; warehouses and distributors, 15%; and workshops and installers, 34%. These figures reaffirm the role of this event as a meeting point and business forum for the different players in the sector, ranging from design and construction to distribution and maintenance.

Within the framework of internationalisation, the role of Latin American visitors has been particularly relevant, with a special presence of attendees from Colombia, Brazil and Mexico, representing 15% of international visitors.
Mexico as a Guest Country and the First Year of Semana Internacional de la Construcción México
Mexico was present as a Guest Country at this renewed edition of Semana Internacional de la Construcción, which achieved its goal of repositioning itself in the market and was visited by a delegation from the Mexican embassy at the event. This agreement has been used to strengthen bilateral relations through strategic meetings with companies, institutions and government representatives, as well as B2B meetings, where companies from both countries explored business opportunities in strategic sectors, and roundtables with institutions to discuss public policies and encourage investment.
It has also strengthened its international version with the announcement of the celebration of the first year of Semana Internacional de la Construcción México. IFEMA MADRID and Expo Guadalajara have agreed to hold one of the best established brands of the Madrid trade fair institution in the region of Jalisco. This event will cover specialised areas of the construction sector such as CONSTRUTEC, VETECO, SMART DOORS and PISCIMAD, and will be held in the largest market in Latin America with all the necessary characteristics to become a successful commercial meeting point for the professional construction sector, integrating the entire value chain and boosting cross-border trade. This project expects to attract local visitors, as well as visitors from other countries in Latin America, Europe and Asia.
