LEXUS grants the award to the best stand and art content to monitor gallery at ARCOMADRID 2023
For the third year running, Lexus grants the Award to the Best Stand and Art Content of the edition to Monitor gallery -stand 9C17.
Additionally, the Brand is an Official Partner of ARCOmadrid 2023. On this edition it once again has a brand stand at which the NX Sayonara and the UX Simbiosis are displayed to the public for the first time.
Lexus, Official Partner of ARCOmadrid 2023, the International Contemporary Art Fair now on at IFEMA Madrid, granted the Award to the Best Stand and Art Content of the edition for the third consecutive year to Monitor gallery -stand 9C17- endowed with 8000 euros.
An award granted for the third time, which aims to highlight not only the great work done by all artists in their spaces, but also those who stand out for their remarkable presentation.
On this third edition, the Award to the Best Stand and Art Content was chosen by a grand jury comprising two important figures from the country’s contemporary art world: Estrella de Diego and Cuauhtémoc Medina, who have contributed a marvellous and professional perspective to the award selection.
In the course of the award presentation act, held at the stand and attended by the direction of ARCOmadrid 2023 and different representatives of the media, Mar Pieltain, General Director of Lexus, remarked:
“It is a pleasure for us to participate in ARCOmadrid 2023. The brand’s bond with ARCO each year represents the spirit of Lexus to support contemporary art and creation, in addition to the brand’s ties to fields beyond the automobile sector.
Lexus is patron of the award we grant for the third consecutive year to the gallery with the best stand and art content of the fair, in recognition of the galleries that each edition position ARCO as the most important and renowned International Contemporary Art Fair in Spain.”
The participation of Lexus at ARCOmadrid 2023 includes a brand stand this edition, displaying the UX Simbiosis to the public for the first time. It is a surprising artistic execution developed by the Valencia-based studio Apua -Tera Yegros and Ana González-.
Simbiosis is an ode to matter, recycling and the circular economy. To create it, Apua transformed the new Lexus UX into a piece of art that conveys commitment to the environment through a more circular, future-looking design, in the knowledge that other forms of creation are possible.
Additionally, on this edition the brand’s stand also includes the NX Sayonara, winner of Lexus Art Car 2022. This art installation designed by Leco Architects, Pablo Sánchez and Esperanza García, is seen as a whole. The scene is composed of the smoke, the ashes, the cherry tree branches and the Lexus NX. A tribute to part of the Japanese culture and its belief in renewal through fire.
During ARCOmadrid 2023, the brand will deploy a fleet of its Electrified range to transport the Fair guests. All vehicles used are equipped with the renowned technology, Leus Electrified by Lexus. These engines stand out for their efficiency, reduced consumption, low noise levels and smoothness, making the journeys to ARCOmadrid extremely enjoyable.
BIOGRAPHIES
Estrella de Diego. Professor at Universidad Complutense de Madrid and Academician at the Royal Academy of Arts of San Fernando de Madrid. She is also a widely-published author of both fiction and non-fiction.
Cuauhtémoc Medina. Born in Mexico, D.F. in 1965, he is one of the most influential critics and curators in Mexico. He was the first associate curator of the Latin American Art collection of the Tate Modern in London (2002-2008), Curator of the Dominó Caníbal project at PAC de Murcia (2010) and more recently Chief Curator of Manifesta 9 (2012). Since March 2013 he has held the position of Chief Curator of the Museo Universitario Arte Contemporáneo (MUAC).
